The Ripen With Us daycare children stopped by the fire station for a fire prevention field trip. They learned fire safety and enjoyed seeing all the fire equipment.

Fire which started in an oven spread to adjoining cupboards, quickly filling the apartment with heavy black smoke. First arriving firefighters quickly extinguished the fire before it could spread further.

The weather held out for a successful open house. Kids and family had fun with fire truck rides, equipment demonstrations, and a live demo showing firefighters rescuing a victim from a car.
